McKay Appointed to NABC Board of Directors For 2025-26

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has introduced that Liberty Men’s Basketball Coach Ritchie McKay has been appointed to the NABC Board of Directors for 2025-26.  

“I truly feel honored to be invited in the room with such fabulous coaches and terrific leaders. I’m blessed to have a chance to support the charge of growing a game that many of us love so much,” McKay stated. “I’m also thankful that we get a chance to represent our university as well.”

     

McKay is considered one of 9 new members of the Board of Directors for 2025-26 and is joined by: Duke head coach Jon Scheyer, Baylor head coach Scott Drew, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope, Illinois head coach Brad Underwood, Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry, Yale head coach James Jones, North Georgia head coach Dan Evans and Pomona-Pitzer head coach Charles Katsiaficas. McKay and the opposite eight coaches formally started their phrases final night time by collaborating within the annual NABC Board of Directors fall assembly.

     

The NABC Board of Directors is the NABC’s prime management physique, offering strategic oversight of the affiliation’s day by day operations and advocacy work. The Board’s composition contains representatives from all three NCAA divisions, together with the NAIA, two-year school and highschool ranges.

     

“As college athletics and the game of basketball undergo unprecedented transformation, it’s vital that coaches continue to present a unified voice and demonstrate sound national leadership,” stated NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. “These nine coaches were identified by their peers as ideal candidates to represent our over 5,000 members on the NABC Board of Directors, and their diverse perspectives will strengthen the NABC’s efforts to support the profession and grow the sport.”
