EPA declares a complete of $337 million to North Carolina for water infrastructure resiliency and restore of environmental injury from Hurricane Helene

ATLANTA, Georgia (Sept. 3, 2025) – Today, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) introduced a complete of $337 million for North Carolina within the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. EPA allotted $276 million in further supplemental appropriation funds below Title VI of the Clean Water Act to enhance water infrastructure resiliency. This follows $409 million appropriated in July for ingesting water infrastructure enhancements.
