Federal price range should put folks first

CUPE has launched its submission forward of the 2025 federal price range, calling on the federal government to strengthen public companies, and construct a fairer, extra sustainable financial system that prioritizes folks, not companies.

Canadian jobs and public companies are beneath risk by Donald Trump’s financial sabotage. Now is just not the time for Prime Minister Mark Carney to pile on with a 15% across-the-board price range minimize that may erode our important public companies and devastate our communities.

Instead, CUPE is urging Carney to make badly wanted investments in well being care, housing, social companies, and infrastructure to assist Trump-proof our financial system and help our communities for the long-haul.

Key suggestions embody:

• Cancel the cuts: rescind the 15% austerity plan that may intestine public companies and kill tens of 1000’s of good-paying jobs throughout Canada.
