USF Ladies’s Golf Opens the 2025-26 Season on the Wolverine Invitational Sunday

TAMPA, Fla. (September 6, 2025) – The University of South Florida ladies’s golf staff tees it up for the primary time of the 2025-26 season on Sunday, September 7, for the Wolverine Invitational. The Bulls shall be joined by 14 different groups on the University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
 
Tiphani Knight, Regina Plascencia, Valentina Bosselmann, Cherry Marley, and Holly McLean will symbolize the Bulls. South Florida will compete towards Purdue, Virginia, Indiana, Oakland, Kent State, Rutgers, FIU, Iowa State, Kennesaw State, Chattanooga, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Notre Dame. The Bulls will tee off on holes 1-3 and gap 18.

Tampa native AJ Newell, a former LPGA Tour Player and NCAA All-American, enters her second season as head coach of USF ladies’s golf. In her first season, she coached Leonor Medeiros to the American All-Conference Team. Newell coached the Bulls to 4 top-10 finishes within the 2024-25 season.

 

Newell took over management of the Bulls’ program following a profitable three-year stint as assistant coach on the University of Michigan, the place she helped information the Wolverines to 3 straight NCAA Regional appearances, a 2022 Big Ten title, and a visit to the 2022 NCAA Championship Finals.
