Chemist Song Lin named 2025 Blavatnik National Award finalist

Song Lin, the Howard Milstein Faculty Fellow/Tisch University Professor of chemistry and chemical biology within the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S), is a finalist for the 2025 Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists, an honor introduced Sept. 9 by the Blavatnik Family Foundation and the New York Academy of Sciences. 

Recognized for advancing electrochemical strategies that allow environment friendly, sustainable synthesis of complicated natural molecules, accelerating drug improvement, and supplies innovation, Lin is a finalist in Chemical Sciences. Three 2025 Blavatnik Laureates – in Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences & Engineering – might be introduced at a ceremony on the American Museum of Natural History Oct. 7. 

The Lin Lab does analysis in natural chemistry, with particular pursuits in electrosynthesis, catalysis and expertise improvement. Lin and colleagues use their experience in natural chemistry and electrochemistry to develop new catalytic strategies to deal with unsolved issues in natural and supplies synthesis.

Each Blavatnik laureate will obtain an unrestricted award of $250,000. The remaining 15 Finalists will every obtain $15,000.
