Cavaliers Set to Host Virginia Invitational Friday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Virginia No.6 males’s and No.20 girls’s cross nation packages are set to host the primary of three meets at Panorama Farms in 2025 with the Virginia Invitational being held on Friday (Sept. 12). The males’s 8k race is scheduled to start out at 8:45 a.m. whereas the ladies’s 5k will start at 9:30 a.m.

• In their season opener, Nick Bendtsen and Stella Kermes received the lads’s 6k and girls’s 4k races. This marks the third consecutive 12 months wherein the Cavaliers have swept the Spider Alumni Open
• Both Bendtsen and Kermes have been named ACC Performer of the Week for his or her performances in Richmond, Va. (9/9)
• Virginia returns greater than half of its roster together with 17 males and 12 girls from the 2024 season
• Key returns embody All-American Gary Martin. Martin received the ACC Cross Country Championship in document time (22:17.6, 8k) and completed thirteenth on the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships (29:02.3, 10k).
  
• Martin was named the 2024 ACC Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year and 2024 ACC Cross Country Performer of the Year.
• The Virginia girls return three of the seven athletes who competed on the NCAA Championships and completed inside the top-15 main the crew to a 14th place end total.
• On the lads’s facet, Virginia’s prime finishers on the NCAA Championships in Will Anthony, Justin Wachtel, Nate Mountain and Martin shall be on the course this fall. Five of the seven members return for the Cavaliers.
