COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State males’s and girls’s cross nation groups are headed to East Lansing, Mich., for the Spartan Invite/B1G Preview Friday. The males will race an 8K at 9 a.m., with the ladies racing a 6K at 9:40 a.m. Meet Information | Live Results

Agnew Named B1G Athlete of the Week
  • Graduate scholar Kevin Agnew was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week after ending second general, only a tenth of a second behind the race winner from No. 15-ranked Butler, on the Mike Baumer XC Classic, final Friday.
  • Agnew crossed the road in a 5K career-best 14:33.4, passing the 14:54.9 he set in 2023.

  • Ohio State will return to East Lansing for the Big Ten Championships Oct. 31.
  • The Buckeyes began the season on the Mike Baumer XC Classic hosted by Wright State in Norton, Ohio, final Friday. The ladies claimed the crew title, with the boys ending second behind solely No. 15-ranked Butler. Both squads had all 5 counters end within the Top 10, led by second place finishes for Mia Robillard for the ladies and Kevin Agnew for the boys.
  • Eight whole freshmen made their collegiate debuts final week – Sydney Stevenson, Allie Kopser, Chloe Dostal, Layla Jordan and Olivia Holbrook for the ladies and Chance Basilone, Andrew Rhode and Zach Zielke for the boys, together with sophomore Colin Cernansky of the boys’s crew.
  • All returning Buckeyes who raced final week ran their private Ohio State finest for a 5K.
  • In the Great Lakes Region rankings to begin the season, the Buckeye ladies have been seventh. Big Ten faculties Wisconsin (No. 2), Michigan State (No. 3) and Michigan (No. 4) have been within the Top 5 behind No. 1 Notre Dame.
  • In the boys’s regional rankings, the Buckeyes have been seventh. B1G faculty Wisconsin was No. 1, with Michigan State No. 4, Michigan No. 5 and Purdue No. 6 forward of the Buckeyes.

The Schedule Ahead

  • The Buckeyes have two common season meets remaining – at Missouri Sept. 26 and at Texas A&M Oct. 17.
  • Michigan State will host the Big Ten Championships Oct. 3.
  • The NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships shall be held in Evansville, Ind., Nov. 14 and the NCAA Championships shall be in Columbia, Mo., Nov. 22.
