Our bodies in Lake Michigan: Lacking swimmer’s physique pulled from water at Lighthouse Beach in Evanston, Illinois ID’d as Saher Khan

EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) — Crews pulled a lacking swimmer’s physique from Lake Michigan at Evanston’s Lighthouse Beach after an intensive search on Saturday night time, fireplace officers stated.

Officials initially responded to the scene at 2611 Sheridan Road round 7 p.m. for a report of three males of their 20s who have been struggling within the water.

Bystanders rescued two swimmers from the water, fireplace officers stated. The two rescued males have been evaluated and launched on the scene.

First responders with the Evanston Fire Department, the Chicago Fire Department and the Coast Guard looked for a 3rd swimmer and located his physique round 9:40 p.m. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

The medical expert’s workplace recognized him as 24-year-old Hanover Park man Saher Khan.

Evanston’s fireplace chief says lake circumstances made the search tough.

“Our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family and loved ones,” stated Evanston Fire Chief Paul Polep. “This is a constant reminder to anyone that these waters are dangerous and should adhere to the posted no swimming signs. We thank our regional partners, including MABAS Division 3, the Coast Guard, and the Chicago Fire Department, for their swift assistance.”
