Alumnus John Ploss, ’77, funds journey scholarship at CCNY’s Spitzer School of Architecture

John Ploss, a distinguished alumnus of The City College of New York’s Bernard & Anne Spitzer School of Architecture, is giving again to his alma mater after a profitable profession as an architect. He’s funding a $5,000 annual journey scholarship for Spitzer structure college students almost 50 years after graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture diploma from the School.

John spent 44 years as an architect in San Francisco.  He was self-employed for 33 years and retired at age 70.

“I’m thrilled that John is supporting this travel fellowship for an architecture student at Spitzer. Travel abroad is life changing; it is one of the most important opportunities we can offer to our students,” stated Marta Gutman, Dean of the Spitzer School. 

Advanced college students within the undergraduate and graduate applications in structure are eligible to use for the John Ploss Travel Fellowship.
