Written Assertion: UK Gaza Medical Evacuation Scheme (12 September 2025)

The ongoing scenario in Gaza is insupportable for the tens of millions of Palestinians dwelling there. I repeat the calls made by the First Minister for a direct ceasefire, recognising the devastating results the conflict is having on the inhabitants, together with kids in want of specialist healthcare.

The Prime Minister introduced in July that the UK will help the medical evacuation of Gazan kids in determined want of remedy. Wales will play its half and I’m happy to verify the Welsh Government will take part within the UK Gaza Medical Evacuation Scheme.

The Welsh Government is working carefully with the opposite governments within the UK to find out how the scheme will function, which is inevitably a delicate and complicated course of, involving the NHS and native authorities. We are dedicated to doing our utmost to help the kids who want medical remedy and their households, the place we’ve got the capability and are in a position to meet their wants.
