The E-Win Flash XL gaming chair is constructed like a truck, and like a truck it’s the type of gaming chair that truly matches if you’re north of six ft tall or have a wider body or simply carry some additional weight.

I’m 6’3″ and pretty broad. I tried to get an MRI earlier this year and my shoulders were too wide to fit in the machine. Even if I was skinnier, a lot of normal office chairs or gaming chairs are just too narrow for me to fit into comfortably. I barely fit into an airplane seat, and my head pops up way above most people’s in an airplane. It’s one of the few times I’m jealous of short people. Heaven forbid I find myself in a theater or concert venue with seating designed for previous generations. Those scoop-bottomed wooden seats are a nightmare.

I am often cramped, is my point, and not just my style.

Thankfully, this is not the case with the E-Win Flash XL which is designed to seat people from 5’7″ to 7’0″ and up to 550 lbs I cannot attest to how well the chair handles people that tall or that heavy, and given that I fill out the seat pretty perfectly, I imagine it would be a rather tight fit for someone clocking in at 7 feet and 550 lbs. Then again, very few people will ever be that tall and that heavy.

For those of us who are still tall (but not NBA tall) and broad or heavyset, the E-Win Flash XL should do the the trick nicely.

The gaming chair has plenty of bells and whistles, though I wouldn’t describe it as “fancy” by any means. It’s a sturdy, no-frills gaming chair that’s aesthetically pleasing and unpretentious. It comes with what you’d expect, including:

  • A separate lumbar support pillow for your lower back.
  • A magnetic neck support pillow that’s easy to remove when you’re not using it.
  • A lever that allows you to recline the back of the chair all the way to flat.
  • Two under-seat levers that lock or unlock the chair’s tilt function and raise and lower the seat. It can go quite a lot higher than I need, so there’s plenty of height-space for taller gamers.
  • Magnetic armrest covers that fit snugly on the extending/pivoting armrests. You can also raise and lower the armrests.
  • Slick Brisa leather that’s easy to clean should you have the misfortune of spilling something.
  • A solid foam core that is both solid and supportive but also comfortable.

The wheel assembly is solid and heavy and the included wheels roll nicely on hard surfaces, though I had trouble with even a very flat, hard rug. That’s probably due at least in part to the overall weight of the chair plus its occupant. I recommend you use a chair-mat of some kind of you have a carpet, as it’s never fun to have wheels resist movement, which can cause the chair to lean forward. Again, this is more about the surface than the chair but worth noting.

Actually putting the E-Win Flash XL together was very quick and easy, though it would probably be easier with two people simply because working with these larger pieces can be ungainly and a bit awkward and some pieces are heavy. I didn’t have any issues, however. The instructions are very easy to follow.

The build quality seems very solid overall. My main gaming chair is a SecretLab Titan Evo and the two are extremely similar in terms of size and build. The one issue I noticed with the E-Win chair was a bit of loose stitching at the top:

This appears to be more of an aesthetic blemish than anything that will lead to longer-term problems, but I’m not 100% sure of that. Nor can I say whether this chair stands the test of time, as that would require many more months (or even years) of use to determine.

Overall, I’m happy with the gaming chair. I spend way too much time sitting down writing, gaming, watching my TV shows and movies, etc. and having a comfortable seat is crucial. I would probably go with a different color than the black and white mannequin I reviewed, nevertheless. I believed it appeared cool within the footage, however I believe I’d choose a strong black or one of many gold and black fashions at the E-Win website.

In phrases of pure aesthetics, I’d must go along with my SecretLab chair as a result of I actually love The Witcher design. I’d rank them about equal when it comes to construct high quality and dimension, although I’ve had the SecretLab chair for a pair years now and solely spent about two months testing out the E-Win Flash XL. The E-Win foam feels extra snug, nevertheless, extra pliable and form-fitting in comparison with the more durable SecretLab seat.

Also price noting: The SecretLab Titan Evo prices round $700, whereas you may get the E-Win Flash XL for $550 – 600 (there’s a Labor Day sale occurring in the mean time additionally, although I’m unsure how lengthy that can final). It by no means hurts to soave $100 – $150 particularly when you’re on a finances.

All instructed, a really strong, spacious and well-built gaming chair that appears good and could be very snug. I mainly by no means make use of features like tilt or recline, preferring to simply get my chair on the proper top and angle, however this provides you loads of choices to get it set simply the way you prefer it, and for giant, tall guys like me it’s an ideal match.

Just bear in mind, regardless of how nice your chair is, you’ll want to rise up and transfer round as a lot as doable. Sitting is dangerous for you, and no quantity of lumbar help or foam cushioning will change that truth. Get a standing desk and an under-desk treadmill and break up your seated time with some motion. You’ll thank me later!
