Washington With Eighth Place End In Residence Opener

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The Washington girls’s golf crew secured one match below its belt Tuesday because the Huskies closed out the Leadership & Golf Invitational.

The Dawgs ended the match 33-over par, good for an eighth place end out of 16 groups at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

“I’m really proud of the grit the team showed today,” head coach Anna Temple mentioned. “We got off to a rough start but the resiliency to finish strong will be good heading into our next event.”

In the ultimate day of motion, Mads Smith completed the day (her birthday, really) with an even-par 72, firing off 5 birdies.  

Amber Li and Wendy Tang every notched a 76, with Li including three birdies and 9 pars.

Carmen Lim, who completed the match with the best mark for the Huskies in a tie for twenty-four^th, together with Athena Ni, each recorded 78s on the day.

Claudia Alnajim, who competed as a person in her first match with UW, recorded a 77 as she and Ni tied for 66th on the participant leaderboard.

Washington heads out on its first highway journey of the yr subsequent week, because the Huskies jet to Colorado for the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic beginning Monday, Sept. 22.
