App State Earns Excessive Grade as Sun Belt Pronounces Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference positioned greater than 3,300 student-athletes on the Commissioner’s List and Academic Honor Roll for the 2024-25 faculty 12 months. In addition, 133 student-athletes earned the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award. 
 
With a mixed 258 honorees among the many lists for the Academic Honor Roll (99 members), Commissioner’s List (151 members) and 1A Far Academic Excellence Award (eight members), App State ranked within the high three among the many 14 football-playing Sun Belt establishments.
 
The Commissioner’s List honors student-athletes who earned a 3.5 grade level common (GPA) or higher through the 2024-25 educational 12 months, whereas the Academic Honor Roll honors these student-athletes who maintained a GPA between 3.00 and three.49 for the tutorial 12 months.
 
The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award acknowledges student-athletes at FBS football-sponsoring establishments who earned their undergraduate levels between Sept. 1, 2024 and Aug. 31, 2025 and compiled a cumulative grade level common of three.80 or higher upon commencement. In addition, the student-athletes will need to have participated in a minimum of two years of NCAA intercollegiate athletics at an FBS establishment. 

Those eight 1A Far Academic Excellence Award honorees from App State have been Jordan Fisher (Baseball), Claire Grenis (Field Hockey), Jackson Nichols (Men’s Cross Country), Gracie Giacoletto (Soccer), Jacquelyn Taylor (Women’s Golf), Catherine Breault (Women’s Cross Country), Abby Granberg (Women’s Cross Country) and Lauren Pledger (Volleyball).

App State student-athletes from Field Hockey (MAC) and Wrestling (SoCon) are usually not included in Sun Belt lists for the Commissioner’s List or Academic Honor Roll.
