FSU’s Garnet Gaming Lounge to host grand opening celebration

Florida State University’s Garnet Gaming Lounge (GGL), the campus’s premier vacation spot for PC, console and tabletop gaming, will have fun its official grand opening from 3 to five p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, on the Askew Student Life Center. The occasion is free and open to the general public, providing a chance to expertise the lounge and check out its video games without charge.

“The Garnet Gaming Lounge isn’t just about playing games, it’s about creating a space where students and the community can come together,” stated Matthew Nelson, program supervisor of GGL and Esports. “We’re excited to welcome everyone to explore this new facility and experience everything it has to offer.”

The GGL is a state-of-the-art facility that includes 41 high-performance gaming computer systems, a devoted tabletop gaming space, and a mixture of each fashionable and retro consoles. The lounge additionally serves as the house enviornment for the FSU Esports staff, which competes nationally in additional than 15 totally different video games annually.
