Hi, my title is Matt and I’ve a confession to make. Well, quite, it’s two confessions. Are you prepared? Okay, not solely do I carry out in improv exhibits, however I actually favored Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis (2024). Are you continue to studying? Okay, good. Because of each these items I loved Mike Figgis’ Megadoc in regards to the enterprise, and herculean efforts, that went into making Megalopolis. All of the contradictions and paradoxical logic there inside. While I’m not reviewing the movie that the fly on the wall model documentary covers, my Letterboxd review referenced the inherent contradictions I felt in Coppola’s opus. Specifically, the stress that’s discovered between an artist and his immense wealth that enables him to dump massive components of the vineyard to fund a protracted “incubating” ardour undertaking. At its core this pressure is the story that Figgis finds in his documentary. 

“Fun,” says Coppola to LaBeouf, that’s why he’s making the film. He doesn’t want, or need, anything. He simply needs to have enjoyable. Moments like this are contrasted by an emergency division head assembly that results in the removing of the VFX supervisor and the movie’s Production Designer resigning consequently. Early rehearsals for the movie function improv and motion video games, making it really feel such as you’re watching the nice and cozy up of a theatre firm. Then minutes later are adopted up by dialogue of Coppola shopping for a resort to renovate it for forged and crew, full with the retrofit of the constructing to incorporate a screening room.
