Orange Wrap Day One at Villanova/UD Invite

The ladies’s tennis group accomplished its first match of the Villanova/UD Invite in opposition to University of Pennsylvania on Friday Sept. 19. The Orange went undefeated in singles matches and pulled away with a doubles win in opposition to the Quakers. 

Senior Serafmina Shastova took down Joleen Saw in a 6-1, 6-1 matchup. Nelly Knezkova challenged Maya Urata, taking the 6-4, 6-3 victory. Anastasia Sysoeva blanked Liza Tkachenko 6-0, 6-0 throughout their match. Monika Wojcik battled robust, successful 7-5, 6-1 in opposition to Varsha Vedula.  

 

Wojcik and Knezkova partnered up defeating the Penn duo Urata and Vedula 8-7(9). Sysoeva and Constance Levivier fell in a detailed 6-4 match to Tzakchenko and Saw. 

 

Syracuse will proceed its weekend on the Villanova/UD Invite Saturday Sept. 20 and Sunday Sept. 21.
