Burnham on Sea Rugby membership buys mobility scooter for photographer

A rugby membership has raised cash to purchase their unofficial photographer a mobility scooter to thank him for years of labor.

Mo Hunt, 83, first began taking photos of Burnham-on-Sea matches when turning as much as a sport in 2008 after transferring to Somerset to be nearer to pals.

Since then he is been documenting the membership’s matches, however after struggling a couple of falls the membership determined to assist and gamers raised the cash to purchase him a mobility scooter.

Club Chairman Lee Berry advised BBC Radio Somerset: “Mo’s jaw hit the floor when he saw one of the lads drive it [mobility scooter] into the clubhouse.”

Mo Hunt first took up pictures in 1982 and labored at no cost.

“I was going round all the clubs around London. I was doing four games a weekend,” he mentioned.

“I’ve been across Zimbabwe with the United Hospitals for nothing, I covered the tall ships for nothing – I was learning.”

When requested what has stored him coming to observe Burnham-on-Sea RFC he responded: “They feed me – there’s a good chef on a Saturday!”

Burnham on Sea RFC Chairman Lee Berry – who has been taking part in there since he was seven years outdated – mentioned: ” There was a couple of times last season when he [Mo] took a bit of a fall, he realised he needed more mobility around the pitch”.

Mr Berry mentioned after a collection of conferences the gamers got here up with the cash, stressing it didn’t come from the membership committee.
