Rice Named American Convention Preseason Women’s Swimming and Diving Favourite

IRVING, Texas – Defending American champion Rice has been chosen as the favourite to defend its title within the American Women’s Swimming and Diving Preseason Poll, as voted on by the coaches.
 
American swimming and diving expands to 9 groups this season with the addition of affiliate members James Madison, Liberty and Marshall, becoming a member of full members East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, Rice, Tulane in addition to affiliate member FIU.
 
In a good vote, Rice earned 5 first-place votes and a complete of 59 whole factors to be named the favourite. Liberty, the 2025 Atlantic Sun champion, was second, incomes 57 factors, together with two first-place votes. FIU, the 2024 American champion, was picked third with 54 factors and the remaining two first-place votes. Tulane was picked fourth with 35 factors, adopted by James Madison, the 2025 Sun Belt champion, with 34 factors.
