Wolverines to Journey to Missouri for Gans Creek Classic

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan males’s cross nation group will resume competitors at 9:45 a.m. CT on Friday (Sept. 26) on the Gans Creek Classic hosted by Missouri on the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.

Notes

• Twelve Wolverines will compete within the 8K Gold race. Jack Kelke, Peter Baracco, Caleb Jarema, Nathan Lopez and Luke Venhuizen are anticipated to make their season debuts. Missouri may also play host to the NCAA Championships on Nov. 22.

• U-M stays within the No. 5 spot within the newest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association regional rankings.

• This would be the first street meet of the season for the Wolverines and second of the season after internet hosting the Michigan Open on Aug. 29.

• Nolan Clark posted a first-place end on the Michigan Open with a personal-best time of 14:59.4, reducing 30 seconds off his earlier finest. His efficiency earned his first profession convention honor, claiming the Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week award on Sept. 3.

• Trent McFarland completed in second (15:01.7), marking his quickest profession time over 5 kilometers. Two extra Wolverines rounded out the top-10, with Kyler McNatt coming in ninth (15:12.5) and Brendan Herger tenth (15:12.7) in his Michigan debut.

• Jonathan Miles and Marcus Reilly additionally made their Wolverine debuts, ending twenty first (15:39.1) and twenty fourth (15:43.0), respectively.

• Michigan can be again on the street subsequent week for the Joe Piane Invitational on Oct. 3 in South Bend, Ind.
