ATLANTA (Sept. 27, 2025) – U.S. Soccer has introduced that goalkeeper Gavin Beavers will substitute Diego Kochen on the U.S. roster for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Brøndby goalkeeper joins the squad after Kochen was recalled by his membership, FC Barcelona. 

The 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup match rules state a participant could be changed on the roster if he isn’t launched by his membership for the match. While Kochen was initially launched, FIFA has accepted him being changed on the roster after being recalled. 

The USA will open the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup on Monday, Sept. 29 in opposition to New Caledonia (7 p.m. ET; FS1, Universo), continues Group E play in opposition to France on Thursday, Oct. 2 (4 p.m. ET; FS2, Universo) and closes the group stage in opposition to South Africa on Sunday, Oct. 5 (4 p.m. ET; FS2, Telemundo). All three matches can be performed at Estadio El Teniente in Rancagua, situated in central Chile.
