Costello elevated to affiliate head coach

ORONO, Maine – University of Maine officers and head swim coach Susan Lizzotte have introduced that swimming & diving coach Linda Costello has been elevated to the position of affiliate head coach.



Costello, getting into her eleventh season on employees, beforehand served 10 seasons as an assistant coach with the swimming & diving program. During her time, Costello has helped information the Black Bears to 108 new data together with 71 particular person marks and 37 relay marks.

Before becoming a member of the teaching employees in 2015, Costello labored for the athletics division within the Bear Necessities Fan Shop from 2008-2013 and in addition served roles as a pupil supervisor, with the Black Bear ticket workplace, and with the athletic advertising and promotions group.

An alumni of UMaine, she graduated summa cum laude in 2012 along with her diploma in Secondary Education: English and accomplished her Masters in 2024 in Literacy.

 

As a student-athlete at UMaine, Costello was a captain of the swim group and a four-time scholar athlete. She was voted the Most Improved in 2008 and earned the Senior Service Award in 2012. Costello completed her four-year profession swimming the IM, backstroke, and distance occasions for the Black Bears in 2012.
