ACC Publicizes Cross Country Performers of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – After a profitable weekend on the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri, the Atlantic Coast Conference named Stanford’s Hanne Thomsen the Women’s Performer and Freshman of the Week for Cross Country, whereas Virginia’s Gary Martin was named the Men’s Performer of the Week.
 
Men’s Performer of the Week – Gary Martin, Senior, Virginia (Warminster, Pennsylvania)

• Crossed the end line in 22:51.1, ending ninth out of over 230 runners within the males’s 8K.
• His end led Virginia to a second-place group end within the high males’s race.

 
Women’s Performer and Freshman of the Week – Hanne Thomsen, Freshman, Stanford (Santa Rosa, California)

• Finished third out of greater than 230 runners, clocking in at 20:15.8 within the ladies’s 6K.
• Her accomplishment led Stanford to the ladies’s group title, marking Stanford’s second consecutive group win on the Gans Creek Classic.
