The London Fire Brigade’s emergency firefighting response is being praised following the fireplace in Beckenham right now.
As at all times in any such emergency state of affairs, the Council’s emergency planning response group have been on standby to help native residents and the emergency providers ought to this have been wanted.
Councillor Angela Page, Executive Councillor for Public Protection and Enforcement stated, “It is hard to believe how quickly life and situations change and the prompt and brilliant response of our brave firefighters is again deeply appreciated. I know the LFB also worked extremely hard to prevent the fire spreading to adjoining buildings, including a cinema, with this successful work also appreciated as well. Had there been a need to open a rest centre for displaced residents, the Council were on hand to do this and I am also grateful to Citygate Church for their willing support if this proved necessary.”
