Malixi Set for World Amateur Team Championships in Singapore

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke girls’s golf freshman Rianne Malixi is about to compete within the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships, which shall be contested on the Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore Oct. 1-4.  Malixi shall be representing her house nation of Philippines.

A complete of 36 girls’s groups shall be competing for the Espirito Santo Trophy and can play 72 holes of stroke play.  Teams shall be comprised of 2-3 golfers and for every around the lowest two scores for every group shall be counted because the rating for the spherical.  The complete of the two-player group scores for the 4 rounds is the group’s rating for the Championship. The Champion is the group with the bottom complete rating for 72 holes.

Along with Malixi on the Philippines squad shall be Grace Quintanilla and Junia Gabasa. 

A local of Manila, Philippines, Malixi was the No. 1 recruit within the 2025 class.  She has earned quite a few preseason accolades for the Blue Devils, together with ANNIKA Award Watch List, Golfweek Second Team All-America, Golf Channel First Team All-America and Golf Channel First Team All-Freshman.  Malixi received the U.S. Women’s Amateur, U.S. Girl’s Junior and the Australian Master of the Amateurs in 2024.  

The World Amateur Team Championships are a biennial worldwide novice golf competitors carried out by the International Golf Federation. The girls contest the Espirito Santo Trophy, whereas the boys compete for the Eisenhower Trophy.

This will mark the thirty first version of the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship, which was first performed in 1964 in France.
