Men’s Golf Strikes Up Two Spots to End in Sixth at Bayou City Collegiate Classic

HOUSTON – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros males’s golf group climbed two spots to complete in sixth place on the Bayou City Collegiate Classic on Tuesday at Westwood Golf Club.
 

The Vaqueros posted a closing spherical 290 for a three-round rating of 880 ending simply three pictures out of the top-five. UTRGV completed forward of Louisiana Monroe, UT Arlington, Utah Valley, Valparaiso, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M. 
 
Freshman Brock Porter and juniors Esteban Gonzalez and Rodolphe Cicala every tied for 26^th with a three-round rating of 220. Porter and Gonzalez every posted a closing spherical two-under par 70 whereas Cicala carded a closing spherical 78. 
 
Freshman Jorge Martin Sampedro completed tied for 41^st with a three-round rating of 223 after posting a closing spherical 74. Senior Luis Límon completed tied for 62^nd with a three-round rating of 229 after delivering a closing spherical one-over par 73. Senior Arthit Kruaprayong completed tied for 75^th with a three-round rating of 234 after a closing spherical 76. 
 
Rice received the group title with a three-round rating of 839 after a closing spherical 279. Houston’s Grant Doggett received the person title with a three-round rating of 201. 
 
The Vaqueros shall be again in motion from Oct. 5-7 after they compete on the Trinity Forrest Invitational, hosted by SMU at Trinity Forrest Golf Club.
