Rasmussen Earns MPSF Athlete of the Week Award

STOCKTON, Calif. – Sophomore Nate Rasmussen of the Pacific males’s swim and dive program was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Men’s Athlete of the Week, as introduced by the convention Tuesday afternoon.

This the primary weekly award for Rasmussen, who earned three first-place finishes within the Tigers’ dominant victory over Fresno Pacific in final Saturday’s meet on the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.

“Nate set the tone of our season with an incredible performance in his first dual meet,” Pacific head coach Katelyne Herrington stated. “Winning all of his individual events and posting a 1:39.17 in the 200 freestyle, his fastest in-season unsuited time and a CSCAA B cut, shows the hard work he’s put in. We’re excited to see him continue building on this momentum.”

Rasmussen, a local of Stockton, California, collected 27 of Pacific’s 188 factors within the win over the Sunbirds, notching a first-place nod within the 50 free (21.26), 100 free (46.82) and 200 free (1:39.17).

The final Tiger to earn the honour got here final season on Jan. 22, 2025, by Mitchell Hopper. Pacific had 4 males’s swimmers earn MPSF athlete of the week accolades throughout its 2024-25 marketing campaign.

Rasmussen and the Tigers are actually able to host the PAC Invite this weekend, starting with 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. classes on Friday, Oct. 3 and concluding on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. on the Eberhardt Aquatics Center. There is free admission to attend each days.
