Adams State Swim Competes in Day 1 of Intermountain Shootout

GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado — On Day 1 of the 2025 Intermountain Shootout held by Colorado Mesa, Adams State’s males’s and ladies’s swim groups completed in third place. The ladies scored 15 factors, placing them behind Colorado Mesa, which scored 206, and Brigham Young University, which scored 224. The males scored 28 factors, placing them behind Colorado Mesa, which scored 187, and Brigham Young University, which scored 252. 

 

Women’s Events

200 Yard Freestyle Relay—The Adams State Relay workforce of Eleanor Schafer, Kennedy Larson, Savanna Spicuzza-Woodcock, and Clare Bonham completed in fifth place, with a ultimate time of 1:52.66, scoring 8 factors for the Grizzly ladies.

1000 yard Freestyle- Finishing in thirteenth and securing 1 level for the Grizzlies was Eleanor Schafer. Schafer completed with a ultimate time of 12:12.35.

100 Yard IM – The Grizzlies had three ladies gather factors within the 100 Yard IM. In twelfth place, securing 3 factors was Clare Bonham with a ultimate time of 1:11.34. In thirteenth was Brenna Otteman with a ultimate time of 1:13.42, securing 2 factors, and in 14th, securing 1 level for the Grizzlies was Savanna Spicuzza-Woodcock with a ultimate time of 1:13.60.

 

Men’s Events

400 Yard Medley Relay- The Adams State Relay workforce, composed of Kenny Rupp, Keenan Johnson, Devin Walters, and Zane Spears, completed fifth with a ultimate time of three:44:62, giving the Grizzlies 8 factors. Finishing in sixth place was the Adams State Relay workforce of Ben Brewer, Victor Lebsock, Dillon Brown, and Mike Eckley, who completed with a ultimate time of three:45.70, securing 6 factors for the Grizzlies

200 Yard Freestyle Relay- The Grizzlies completed with a fifth and sixth place end, securing a complete of 14 factors total. In fifth place was the relay workforce of Kenny Rupp, Dillon Brown, Mike Eckley, and Keenan Johnson, who completed with a ultimate time of 1:31.57. In sixth place was the relay workforce of Jess Baker, Victor Lebsock, Zane Spears, and Devin Walters, who completed with a ultimate time of 1:33.14.
