First Day Full at Duck Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. (Oct. 3, 2025) – Washington State Tennis captured all 5 matches to open play on the 2025 Duck Invitational, performed Friday on the Student Tennis Center.
 
The day started with doubles when WSU’s duo of Chisato Kanemaki and Martina Puvill posted a 7-5 win over Utah’s Kamea Medora and Sara Akid. In the second doubles match of the day, Kanemaki and Zali Morris cruised to a 6-1 win over Oregon’s Tilde Jagare and Juliet Santitto.
 
In singles motion, the Cougars confronted Portland and captured all three matches in straight units. Kanemaki defeated Alaia Rubio Perez, 6-1, 6-2, which Puvill had no bother in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Maria Galatescu. Morris performed two robust units and got here away with a 7-6 (1), 6-4 win over Nadine Arbiazar Martinez.
 
Play continues on the Duck Invitational Saturday at 9 a.m.
