FREDERICK, Md. – Hood College ladies’s swimming staff hosted a tri-meet throughout Homecoming weekend towards Stevenson University and Goucher College. The squad fell to Stevenson however earned their first win of the season towards Goucher with a rating of 134-65.

Top Times 

The ladies’s staff positioned third within the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:14.17, led by Joelle Blake (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro), Taegan Murphy (Walnutport, Pa./twenty first Century Cyber Charter), Sidney Brinkman (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg), and Jordan Taylor (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area).

Senior Sidney Brinkman (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) led the Blazers individually, inserting second in each the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.46) and the 50-yard butterfly (30.74).

Additional highlights included:

  • Joelle Blake (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro): 6:14.83 within the 500 free, 1:10.87 within the 100 again
  • Jordan Taylor (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area): 36.40 within the 50 again, 1:24.78 within the 100 IM
  • Taegan Murphy (Walnutport, Pa./twenty first Century Cyber Charter): 40.71 within the 50 breast, 1:18.28 within the 100 again
  • Emma Prince (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Male): 1:33.82 within the 100 breast, 2:47.01 within the 200 free

The ladies’s 200-yard freestyle relay staff (Prince, Bowers, Murphy, Taylor) completed third with a time of 2:07.03.
