Bridge, Median Construction Planned at Night Oct. 6-13 on Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia

October 5, 2025 – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) introduced at this time that bridge and median building will happen at night time on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.

Motorists are suggested of the next journey restrictions:

• Monday, October 6, by Friday, October 10, from 9:00 PM to five:00 AM the next morning, lane closures will probably be in place on southbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges for barrier removing, deck repairs, and a visitors shift. The shift will transfer three lanes of southbound I-95 visitors proper to permit for reconstruction of the median space.
• Monday, October 13, from 8:00 PM to five:00 AM the next morning, the ramp from Aramingo Avenue to northbound I-95 will probably be closed for bridge beam setting. Motorists will probably be directed south on I-95 to the Girard Avenue exit (Exit 23) and switch left on Richmond Street to entry the northbound I-95 on-ramp.
• Monday, October 13, from 8:00 PM to five:00 AM the next morning, the ramp from the Betsy Ross Bridge to northbound I-95 will probably be closed for bridge beam setting. Motorists will probably be directed south on I-95 to the Allegheny Avenue exit (Exit 25), flip left on Lehigh Avenue and switch left on Richmond Street to entry the northbound I-95 on-ramp.

The work is a part of PennDOT’s $355.3 million I-95/BR3 challenge to widen and reconstruct northbound I-95 between Wheatsheaf Lane to simply north of Margaret Street.
