Bristol’s M1 metrobus service to be prolonged in £3.6m venture

Plans to spend £3.6m on extending a metropolis bus route has been accredited.

Bristol City Council will lead the work which incorporates increasing the M1 bus service to 3 extra places in south Bristol and upgrading six bus stops with new shelters and real-time show boards.

The plans have been backed by Helen Godwin, Mayor of the West of England, Tony Dyer, chief of town council and Karin Smyth, MP for Bristol South.

The M1 bus already runs north to south by means of town between Cribbs Causeway and Hengrove Park, with providers each 10 minutes at peak occasions.
