Photographer, 10, latest patron of Cuan Wildlife Rescue

A ten-year-old award-winning photographer has turn out to be a patron of a Shropshire wildlife charity.

Jamie Smart, often known as “Eagle Eyed Girl”, from Llandrindod Wells, Powys, began taking pictures of wildlife when she was six-and-a-half years outdated.

She is the most recent patron of Cuan Wildlife Rescue in Much Wenlock, which rescues and rehabilitates sick, injured and orphaned wild animals and birds.

The charity stated the teen would assist “raise awareness of the urgent need to conserve wildlife and wild spaces”.

“Through her photography, Jamie brings to life the importance of safeguarding biodiversity for future generations,” it added.

Among her in depth checklist of awards, Jamie beforehand gained 2025 Australian Geographic Photographer of the Year (18 and below) and 2025 Wildlife Photographer of the Year (10 and below).

“We are thrilled to welcome Jamie as a patron,” stated Anna Morris-Jones, charity supervisor.

“As someone whose creativity and passion for wildlife resonates so strongly with young people, Jamie embodies the spirit of our mission.

“Together, we will encourage extra folks to understand and shield the pure world.”

Jamie added: “I’m honoured to turn out to be a patron of Cuan Wildlife Rescue.”

“Wildlife images permits me to share the tales of the animals and environments I care about most, and I hope that by supporting the charity, I may help extra folks see why defending them issues.”
