Pictures exhibit showcases the great thing about the St. John River Valley

MADAWASKA, Maine —  St, John Valley Artists, an area artists group, is proud to host “The Heart of the Acadian Forest – The St. John River Valley”, a solo images exhibition by native artist Steve Young of One World Artisans. The opening reception will happen on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 6–8 p.m. on the St. John Valley Chamber of Commerce in Madawaska. The exhibit will stay on show by means of mid-November.

This marks Young’s eleventh solo exhibition — and his first in practically twenty years. A lifelong photographer with greater than 50 years behind the lens, Young’s work captures the essence of the St. John River Valley, a area he describes as “the heart of the Acadian Forest eco-region, and to me, the best place on Earth for many reasons.”

The exhibit encompasses a vary of photographic methods, from large-format movie to digital compositions, together with each silver-gelatin prints and archival giclée enlargements. Viewers will expertise panoramic landscapes, intimate forest particulars and scenes that commemorate the pure magnificence and biodiversity of northern Maine.

Originally from Madawaska, Young is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and founding father of One World Artisans in Frenchville, the place he combines his passions for images, environmental stewardship, and group collaboration. He additionally serves as president and founding father of the Upper St. John River Organization, an area nonprofit land belief devoted to conservation, schooling and leisure alternatives within the area.
