Women’s Golf Concludes Day One in every of Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The WKU girls’s golf group posted a 9-over par rating of 293 for the primary spherical of the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee on Sunday. The Lady Toppers will go into day two in tenth place, two strokes behind ninth place.

NOTABLES

• Senior Sydney Hackett bounced again after a pair of bogeys to start out the day, posting three straight birdies to get her below par. She completed the day 2-under, carding a 69 for the spherical, placing her in a tie for fourth place heading into the second day. She had 4 birdies on the day, which is tied for the second most of any participant within the discipline.
• Freshman Reagan Ramage shot a 72 (+1) for the day, placing her in a tie for twenty first place.
• Freshman Leah Edwards posted a 73 (+2) for the spherical, claiming a tie for thirty second place.
• Senior Averi Cline completed the spherical 8-over par (79) and tied for 68th place.
• Junior Grace Frei carded an 83 (+12) for the spherical for a 77th place for the day.

“It’s nice to be able to play in some new events against a good field,” stated head coach Adam Gary. “I’m proud of how Sydney battled back after a slow start to finish under par. We need to find a way to limit the mistakes the rest of the tournament. I’m glad we still have two rounds left.”
