October’s supermoon lit up the night time sky on Monday, Oct. 6, creating numerous picture alternatives for photographers world wide.

The world witnessed the height of October’s full moon simply earlier than midnight at 11:47 p.m. ET.

This month’s full moon was a supermoon, in keeping with NASA, making it look 30% brighter and as much as 14% bigger than it normally does. Supermoons occur when a brand new moon or a full moon is at its closest to Earth all month, in keeping with NASA. The phenomenon is named “perigee.”

October’s full moon is also referred to as the Harvest Moon, and it coincided with the start of the Draconid meteor bathe.
