City Council Sponsors ‘Trick or Streets’ to Present Spook-tacular Fall Enjoyable

The Tacoma City Council voted unanimously on October 7, 2025 to sponsor Trick or Streets, hosted by Safe Streets. Trick or Streets presents neighbors the chance to shut residential streets to car visitors free of charge to advertise a protected and enjoyable surroundings for Halloween, Dia de los Muertos, and fall-themed celebrations throughout the weekend of October 31 – November 2, 2025.

“While Halloween is meant to be scary, it is not supposed to be dangerous for pedestrians, especially for young children. We need to come up with creative solutions for helping our community to come together and celebrate the season in a safe way,” mentioned District 1 Council Member John Hines. “Trick or Streets gives more of us the chance to create fun and fang-tastic spaces to connect and enjoy the spooky season together without concern for traffic. Trick or Streets is about more than just candy and costumes, it’s about spending time with your neighbors and building community.”

“Whether your family is out trick-or-treating or just enjoying a beautiful fall evening with your neighbors, Trick or Streets aims to enhance pedestrian safety for our community this year,” mentioned At-Large Council Member Kristina Walker. “The fall season is fantastic in Tacoma, and we want our residents to be able to enjoy it as safely as possible. Safe Streets has made it so easy for community members to register for Trick or Streets, and I can’t wait to hear all about the fun and creative block parties that take place.”

Safe Streets is a non-profit group that goals to unite and encourage youth, neighbors, and companies to construct protected, wholesome, and thriving communities.  Safe Streets has expertise efficiently internet hosting National Night Out in Tacoma, which equally allows neighbors to host block events and neighborhood occasions centered on fostering constructive neighborhood celebrations and partnerships.
