Hoyas Drop Thursday Evening Tilt to Villanova

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball crew fell to the Villanova Wildcats, 3-1 (28-26, 31-33, 25-14, 25-12), on Thursday evening at McDonough Arena. With the loss, GU slides to 10-8 and 3-2 in BIG EAST play on the season whereas the Wildcats enhance to 13-3 and 4-1 in convention play.

Hoya Highlights

• Samantha Soderlund powered the Hoya offense with a team-high 15 kills and a .213 hitting proportion, whereas Dionna Mitchell added 9 kills. Kamryn Lee-Caracci and Katherine McGregor adopted carefully with eight apiece.
• Lee-Caracci, Mitchell and Juleigh Urbina have been sturdy from the service line, every recording a pair of aces.
• On the defensive finish, Berkeley Ploder led the entrance line with six blocks, whereas Lee-Caracci contributed 4 of her personal.
• Urbina directed the assault with a team-best 25 assists, supported by Natalie Nguyen with 16.
• Defensively, Soderlund anchored the again row with a team-high 9 digs.
