The winners of this 12 months’s Crikey! Magazine Photography Competition have been introduced, celebrating the ability of pictures in selling conservation and elevating environmental consciousness.

For nearly a decade, Australia Zoo’s Crikey! Magazine Photography Competition has championed wildlife conservation via the lens of pictures. Every 12 months, hundreds of passionate photographers from across the globe submit their work, capturing the unimaginable range of life on our planet.

World-renowned wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin mentioned, “2025 was a record-breaking year, with more photographs entered than ever before. We were amazed by the calibre of images entered into the Crikey! Magazine Photography Competition, which celebrates the incredible beauty of the natural world.”

“We hope these incredible images not only help to deepen our appreciation for the natural world but also inspire us to take action to protect it for generations to come,” he mentioned.

Australia Zoo obtained an excellent array of entries throughout the competitors’s classes.

The successful shot for 2025, captured by photographer Santiago Arias, options Porá, an endangered jaguar in El Impenetrable National Park, Argentina. Set to look on the duvet of Crikey Magazine’s summer time print version, the picture is a strong reminder of the significance of defending wildlife and wild locations. Porá, like different jaguars reintroduced to the area, helps to revive a once-thriving inhabitants and encourage native conservation efforts.

A heartwarming picture of a Sarus crane with its chick, photographed by Ponlawat Thaipinnarong in Buriram, Thailand, was named the winner of The Natural World class.

In the Crikey! Kids 15 – 17 class, 17-year-old Salahuddin Ahmed captured a putting photograph of a damselfly peeking via a tiny gap in a vibrant inexperienced leaf, taken in Gaibandha, Bangladesh.

Panitbhand Paribatra was awarded the highest prize within the Crikey! Kids 11 – 14 class for a wide ranging picture of a humpback whale encounter, photographed in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Finally, 10-year-old Jamie Smart took dwelling the win within the Crikey! Kids 10 Years and Under class with a spectacular close-up picture of a bit leaping spider, taken in Lamington National Park, Queensland.

The Crikey! Magazine Photography Competition is supported and judged by award-winning photographers and conservationists, together with Robert Irwin, Russell Shakespeare, Ashleigh Scully, Kate Berry, Day Scott, Harman Singh Heer and Sean Scott.
