New waste assortment service begins for Phase 2 residents subsequent week

Starting subsequent week (20 October 2025), residents in Phase 2 of our new waste and recycling assortment service, which incorporates Bransgore, Fordingbridge, and Ringwood, will begin utilizing wheelie bins and meals waste recycling caddies for his or her family waste collections.  

We are encouraging residents to test their new assortment day, as it could differ from their earlier black and clear sack assortment day. Food waste shall be collected weekly, and common waste and recycling shall be collected on alternate weeks. To test this info, residents can learn the most recent letter from us or test on-line. 

Cllr Geoffrey Blunden, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability, stated: “Our new waste and recycling collection service begins for our Phase 2 residents next week, bringing improved recycling opportunities to around 15,000 more homes across the New Forest. 

“The second section of this rollout marks one other essential milestone in our dedication to bettering how we handle waste and recycling throughout the district. By introducing wheelie bins and meals waste caddies, we’re not solely making collections extra environment friendly for the long run, but additionally serving to residents to recycle extra and scale back the quantity of waste being thrown away. 

“Phase 1 has already demonstrated the positive impact these changes can have. Thanks to the efforts of our crews and residents, we’ve been able to collect an average of 48 tonnes of food waste each week, and we’ve seen noticeable improvements in street cleanliness and recycling participation. This is a significant operational undertaking, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together as a district so far.
