Virginia Field Hockey | No. 2 Virginia Set to Tackle No. 7 Liberty and William & Mary

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 2 Virginia subject hockey workforce (9-1, 5-1 ACC) is about to host No. 7 Liberty (10-1, 4-0 BIG EAST) on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. at Turf Field in Charlottesville, Va. earlier than touring to Williamsburg, Va. to compete towards William & Mary (1-10, 0-2 CAA) on Sunday, Oct. 19 at Busch Field at 1 p.m.

• Virginia remained No. 2 within the NFHCA Week 5 ballot after shifting as much as No. 2 in Week 4 and being ranked No. 3 within the Preseason, Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3 ballot
• Virginia has been ranked within the high 10 of the NFHCA ballot for the reason that Week 1 ballot of the 2022 season
• Freshman Lauren Sloan was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week (9/2) for spectacular collegiate debut scoring one objective and contributing one help in Virginia’s win over No.17 Penn State
• Junior goalkeeper Nilou Lempers earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week (9/9) after recording two shutouts in path to 1-0 victories towards No.12 Ohio State and No.18 Rutgers
• Lempers recorded 5 shutouts, 4 towards ranked groups
• Senior Madison Orsi earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week and junior Emma Watchilla earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week (10/7) after defeating No. 9 Duke in double extra time
• Sophomore Catalina Quinteros and senior Madison Orsi netted sport winners within the BIG TEN/ACC Challenge
• Junior Mia Abello leads the workforce in objectives (5), factors (12), pictures (21) and game-winning objectives (2)
• Freshman Lauren Sloan and senior Lauren Kenah leads the workforce in assists with three

The Cavaliers journey to Louisville, Ky. to tackle No. 19 Louisville on Friday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. at Turf Field in Charlottesville, Va. Admission is free for all regular-season contests at Turf Field.
