In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Council members, employees and the neighborhood are collaborating on concepts to bolster our financial system and native enterprise. A thriving financial system advantages our residents, our staff, and our shared financial system.
Several activation efforts like TAP, Event Support mini-grants and the Downtown Food Truck pilot have already been effectively acquired by the neighborhood and taking part companies.
As we transfer ahead, creating alternative whereas respecting the residential material that binds our neighborhood will proceed to be our guiding purpose.
“Revitalizing our local economy after Helene is crucial for community health and recovery. However, this must be carefully balanced with ensuring a high quality of life for all residents,” acknowledged Mayor Esther Manheimer. “During the October 14 council meeting, it became evident that a social district fails to achieve this delicate balance as an activation strategy, and therefore, it will not be pursued at this time.”
Proposals will proceed to be introduced forth for Council dialogue and motion. The proposal to regulate the occasion noise exceedance ordinance will seem earlier than Council once more on the November 18 assembly.
