Swimming & Diving Host American in First Dwelling Meet of the Season

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University males’s and girls’s swimming & diving groups will face crosstown rival American on Friday, October 17. The meet will start at 2 p.m. at McCarthy Pool.

“Our first dual meet of the season on the Hilltop! We are excited to welcome American swimming & diving to Yates this Friday. American is a backyard rival, who is familiar with our team. We need to be ready for their energy and show everyone why our pool is a tough environment to race in. We are looking forward to showing the hard work we have put into the season so far in front of our home crowd.”- Head Coach John Carroll on this weekend’s meet. 

ABOUT THE HOYAS

• Last week on the Battle on the Burr in opposition to Howard, the lads’s crew gained 139-78 whereas the ladies gained 118-106.
• The girls gained 5 races, together with the 1000 free, 200 IM, 100 fly, 100 free and the five hundred free.
• The males’s crew captured eight first-place finishes within the 200 medley relay, 1000 free, 50 free, 200 IM, 100 free, 100 again, 500 free, 100 breaststroke, and 200 free relay.
• Owen Watkins led the Hoyas with 4 first-place races within the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay and the 200 medley relay.
