Huskies Take Fifth at Princeton Fall Classic

PRINCETON, N.J.—UConn girls’s cross nation carried out effectively on Friday morning on the Princeton Fall Classic. The Huskies completed fifth with 141 factors, putting behind Boise State, Princeton, Penn, and Yale.

Senior captain Chloe Trudel led the best way as UConn’s prime finisher, taking 11^th place with a personal-best time within the 6K at 20:22.8. Freshman Sascha Letica completed 16^th general with a personal-best time of 20:25.8. Junior Malin Rahm joined the personal-best brigade, taking 30^th at 20:50.1.

Freshman Brooke Strauss claimed 43^rd with a time of 20:59.8. Sophomore Claire Paci set a brand new private greatest, ending in 49^th place at 21:02.0. Graduate Student Sarah Trainor made her season debut, claiming 60^th with at 21:12.9. Senior Ally McCarthy rounded out the UConn prime seven, taking 75^th at 21:21.2.

“It was a beautiful day for cross country racing today. Princeton did a great job hosting on their amazing on-campus course, and it was great to utilize this competition,” stated Head Coach Beth Alford-Sullivan. “We had a massive breakthrough from Chloe Trudel, finishing in 11^th, and another great run from Sascha Letica. Placing two runners in the top 20 was great. The team had a great result, keeping it close with Yale and Penn throughout the race.”

“Sarah Trainor had a great debut, finishing in our sixth position. Her fitness puts us in a great spot for conferences and regionals. We will recover from this and prepare for BIG EAST Championships in two weeks. Omaha bound!”

The Huskies will head to Ashland, Nebraska, to compete on the 2025 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships at Mahoney State Park.
