Mountaineers Cap Competitors on the Princeton Fall Classic

PRINCETON, NJ  – The App State males’s and ladies’s cross nation groups rounded out the common season on the Princeton Fall Classic on Friday.
 
In the lads’s 8K, sophomore Thomas Wlazlowski positioned sixty fourth out of 318 opponents with a private better of 24:12.5, surpassing his earlier better of 24:45.6 by 33 seconds. Fellow sophomore Aaron Kidd was the following Mountaineer to cross the end line, putting 103rd with a private better of 24:25.2, which was a six-second enchancment from his earlier PR of 24:31.2. Redshirt senior Chase Burrell stopped the clock at 24:27.5 (a hundred and fifth) and senior Ethan Lipham recorded a time of 24:27.6 (108th). In the ladies’s 6K, all eight Mountaineers clocked private bests on the day. Freshman Josie Jackson set tempo for the Black and Gold, stopping the clock at 21:39.8 to position a hundred and fifth out of 270 opponents. Jackson’s time was a 32-second enchancment of her earlier private finest, 22:11.7, which she set on the Firetower Project Run.
 
“It’s rare to have a day when everyone on the team runs a personal best and today was that day,” stated girls’s distance coach Annie Richards. “Our team is predominately underclassmen and they rose to the challenge of a competitive meet with teams from across the region and across the country. Josie shined in the last kilometer of the race with a fast finish that made the difference in our team score.”
 
Fellow freshman Elizabeth McCart additionally clocked a private finest with a time of 21:41.2, surpassing her earlier PR (22:08.5) by 27 seconds to position 108th. With a time of 21:42.2, sophomore Breanna Budzinski took a hundred and tenth and shaved eight seconds off her earlier private finest (21:50.3).
