Mountaineers Gear Up for Princeton Fall Classic

BOONE, N.C. – The App State males’s and girls’s cross nation groups will shut out the common season with the Princeton Fall Classic this Friday in Princeton, NJ. The girls’s 6K is slated for 10:30 a.m. with the boys’s 8K to observe at 11:15 a.m. 
 

Joining the Mountaineers in Friday’s competitors will likely be Boise State, Boston College, Boston University, Buffalo, Columbia, Connecticut, Cornell, Dartmouth, Eastern Michigan, George Washington, La Salle, Lehigh, Maryland, Monmouth, Oklahoma, Penn, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Princeton, Providence, Richmond, Rider, Rutgers, Stony Brook, Syracuse, Temple, Toledo, UMass Amherst, UMass Lowell, Utah Valley, William & Mary, and Yale. 
 
Last Time Out 
At the Firetower Project Run on Oct. 3, sophomore Aaron Kidd gained the boys’s 8K with a time of 24:37.2, which was six seconds shy of his private finest (24:31.2). For his efficiency, Kidd collected his first Sun Belt Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week accolade and have become the third Mountaineer sophomore to earn a SBC Runner of the Week nod this fall. Fellow sophomore Noah Martinson (24:54.6, PR), redshirt senior Chase Burrell (24:54.9), senior Ethan Lipham (24:58.0), sophomore Thomas Wlazlowski (24:58.5), and junior Derek Waite (25:06.0) completed fourth by way of eighth to assist the Mountaineers to a first-place end within the staff standings with a season-low 23 factors. 
 
Sophomore Breanna Budzinski was the primary Mountaineer to cross the end line within the girls’s 6K, stopping the clock at 21:50.4 for a private finest and eighth-place end. The freshman quartet of Elizabeth McCart (22:08.5), Josie Jackson (22:11.7), Tessa Massa (22:21.5), and Ashby Williams (22:23.3) every clocked private bests and completed among the many high 25. The girls’s staff positioned second within the standings with 81 factors.

Looking to defend their 2024 staff titles, the Mountaineers will head to Foley, Ala. for the Sun Belt Championships on Oct. 31. The meet will likely be accessible to stream on ESPN+.
