James Wilson, chief working officer of used automotive market Motorway, mentioned: “Momentum is building in the used car market. New car supply issues and cost-of-living pressures continue to push buyers towards more affordable used options, particularly EVs.

“Price parity between EVs and ICE (internal combustion engine) cars has arrived. This shift, combined with rising consumer confidence, will accelerate EV adoption.”
James Hosking, Managing Director of AA Cars, mentioned: “Parking aids have moved from nice-to-have to essential for many used-car buyers.
“It shows how technology once reserved for premium models is now within reach. With prices on many used models easing this year, including big falls for some EVs such as the Tesla Model 3, shoppers can stretch to newer, higher-spec cars at a better value.
“But features should never trump the fundamentals. The golden rule still applies. Do not let gadgets distract from the condition, service history, and how the car drives.
“A car only represents a saving if it is mechanically sound and has a clean history. Always check the paperwork and consider an independent inspection.
“Our AA 128-point inspection, from £119, helps buyers avoid costly surprises whether they are purchasing online or in person.”
Other in-demand tech developments built-in sat-navs (40%) and heated windscreens (34%) in addition to bluetooth connectivity (34%) and USB charging ports (21%) . Physical buttons and knobs (45%), cassette/CD gamers (37%) and analogue speedometers (28%) full the checklist.
Cigarette lighter/ashtrays had been namechecked by (4%).
