HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 12 Marshall Men’s Soccer group (6-4-1) picked up a 1-0 shutout over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies Tuesday night time at Hoops Family Field to shut out non-conference play.

“They (Oakland) defended well, they sat in a low block, and we spent all day breaking them down,” Herd Men’s Soccer Head Coach Chris Grassie mentioned. “I think we could have done that a little bit better. Then I don’t like the end of the game. You know, it gets a little pandemonium. It’s just we need to be sensible. I think there’s some basic football things we can do to just make it a little bit easier on ourselves.”

The decisive second arrived simply previous the half-hour mark when Ryan Holmes discovered house on the high heart of the field and fired a purpose off a saved shot by Louie Salkeld. The purpose was Holmes’ first of the season with Salkeld registering his second help.
