Head Coach Beau Hoopman

“Both boats did significantly better than last year. The championship eight is probably one of the most competitive races of the year, and even the slightest mistake or wrong line can cause a cascade of issues. We were overtaken early by a really good CRC boat and rowed in their wake for most of the race.

We even avoided the wash around the longest turn on the course, which probably cost us about 10 seconds. We need to clean that up for the Princeton Chase; we’ll row in our racing boats there with our telemetry so we can collect data between the two pieces.

The Charles is one of those races that you complete and then immediately move on from, and hopefully learn a valuable lesson. The four did great; way faster than last year. Hopefully that leads to some competition for the 1st eight going into November.”
