Men’s Golf Rises Three Spots in Last Day at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The WKU males’s golf staff moved up three spots on the leaderboard on the Furman Intercollegiate on the final day in Greenville, South Carolina. The Hilltoppers completed tied for third place with an total rating of 858 (+6) after posting a 286 (+2) within the third spherical.

NOTABLES

• Junior Gage Doyle posted one other 69 (-2) within the third spherical to convey his remaining rating to 213 (E) for a tie for fifth place. Doyle had an eagle within the third spherical and completed with 12 birdies within the match which was tied for the third most.
• Freshman Will Easterlin carded a 73 (+2) within the remaining spherical for a remaining rating of 215 (+2) for a tie for thirteenth place. His 2.83 stroke common on Par 3s was tied for the perfect common within the area.
• Redshirt freshman Ethan Smith additionally carded a 73 (+2) within the third spherical for a complete rating of 217 (+4), tying for twentieth place.
• Sophomore Trevor Drew completed tied for thirty eighth place after firing a 71 (E) within the third spherical bringing his complete rating to 221 (+8) for the match.
• Junior Rafe Blankenship posted a 75 (+4) within the remaining spherical for a complete rating of 222 (+9) for a tie for forty sixth place.

“It was a good event to cap the fall off on,” stated head coach Austin King. “We played solid today, just not quite sharp enough to be at the top at the end but had a lot of good things to hang our hat on. This group is for sure better than they were 8 weeks ago and I’m excited for what’s ahead for them! Time to hit the grindstone for the offseason!”
