VERO BEACH, Fla. – The University of Minnesota males’s golf group completed in first place after the primary two rounds of the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational on Sunday.

The Golden Gophers completed with an total rating of 25-under-par after 36 holes of golf. They shot 11-under-par (277) throughout the first spherical and 14-under-par (274) within the second spherical. Their second spherical rating (274) is the group’s lowest in 18 holes for the reason that second spherical of the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate in Oct. 2019. The group’s complete rating (551) is their lowest in 36 holes for the reason that Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Oct. 2015. Four Gophers completed with scores beneath par on the day. 

Notable Performances: 

Sophomore Jack Crousore led the group with a rating of 10-under-par, sitting in fourth place amongst all golfers on the day. He collected a rating of 5-under-par (67) throughout the first and second rounds, tallying 11 birdies and only one bogey.

Sophomore Chun-Ta Wu completed his day in fifteenth place with a rating of 6-under-par. He picked up an eagle on the 14th gap throughout the first spherical, serving to him end 2-under-par (70). His 5 birdies within the second spherical helped him shoot 4-under-par (68).

Senior Jack Wetzel shot 5-under-par all through the primary 36 holes. He collected six of his 9 birdies throughout the first spherical, serving to him end 3-under-par (69).
